Individual Therapy

Individual therapy (sometimes called “counseling” or “psychotherapy”) is a process through which clients work one-on-one with a highly trained therapist or licensed counselor to explore their feelings, beliefs, thoughts, behaviors, relationships and life issues. In order to work through challenging life problems, painful memories, trauma, depression or anxiety, a qualified therapist will help a client gain insight into the issues that have them feeling “stuck,” “hopeless” or “lost” in life. Good therapy provides a confidential, non-judgmental space for people to have a better understanding of themselves and others, set personal goals, and work toward desired change through meaningful conversation and problem solving. A client and therapist may work together for only a few sessions or for several months or years, depending on the client’s unique needs and personal goals for therapy.
